What is an Additional User Packages (AUP)

Additional User Packages (AUPs) are available so that you and your colleagues can earn CE credits from one set of DVDs, MP4s, CDs or MP3s at a fraction of the cost of buying the entire program (initial video and/or audio purchase required). Each AUP includes a comprehensive syllabus on PDF, and a credit package (the evaluation and/or post-test), but no DVDs, MP4s, CDs or MP3s. Credit is obtained upon successful completion of an activity evaluation. A processing fee must accompany the completed evaluation application. You may purchase an AUP now or at any time after your initial order of a video and/or audio activity. If you order an AUP at the same time you order your video or audio program, CMEinfo will waive the $27 AUP shipping and handling charge

Can I buy an Additional User Package (AUP) at a later date?

Yes. You may buy AUPs until the credit expiration date (initial video and/or audio purchase required).

Can I buy just one or two discs?

Due to agreements with our providers, programs can only be sold as a total package. However, if any of the discs are missing or defective, we will replace them.

Can I make a return?

Due to the nature of our products, its digital format and educational content, no refunds are permitted. You may return the product within 15 days of receipt and receive a credit reflective of the original price you paid for the item. This credit may be applied as payment to any product(s) produced by Oakstone Publishing, LLC. We guarantee your program against defects in materials. Simply return any defective materials and we will replace them free of charge. To make a return, call 800-633-4743 for a Return Authorization Code. Complete the packing ticket and return with the program to 2700 Corporate Drive, Suite 100, Birmingham, AL 35242. We recommend shipping through UPS or FedEx. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Can I speak to a customer-service representative?

Can the 'ship to' address be different than the 'bill to' address?

Yes.

Do I have to submit the test in its entirety to receive credit?

Yes, it must be completely finished before it's submitted.

Do I send the test back to you?

You will return the test to the course sponsor.  The majority of the tests are now available online through www.myoakstone.com.  In the event that you receive a paper test with your course materials, the sponsor’s name and address will be included on the exam registration page.

Do programs come with a syllabus?

Do you guarantee that I'll pass the boards?

We cannot make any guarantee. But we do promise that CMEinfo/Oakstone programs are a remarkably beneficial way to study for board examinations.

Do you offer discounts?

We offer 10% discounts to residents and fellows with proof of residency or fellowship. We also offer quantity discounts. For information about discounts, contact service@oakstone.com with written proof of residency or fellowship.

Due to the nature of discounts or coupon offers, no refunds will be accepted. Promotional offers, including gift cards, are available to U.S. residents only. Discounts and coupon offers are not applicable to prior purchases and may not be combined with any other offers. Discounts and coupon offers cannot be redeemed for cash, credit or refund. Does CMEinfo edit the programs?

No changes are ever made to the medical content of a program.

How can I pay?

We accept all major credits cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) as well as checks and institutional purchase orders. All orders must be paid for in U.S. currency.

How do I add MP4 Videos to iTunes

  1. Open iTunes
  2. Insert the DVD in your DVD drive and open the folder
  3. Drag the video files onto your iTunes library
  4. Videos will appear in Library > Movies

How do I order?

Orders can be placed electronically from this site, by phone, or fax. To order, simply find the program or programs you wish to purchase, click on "add to cart" button, and you will be guided through the ordering process. You can also call customer service at 1-800-633-4743.

How long do I have to apply for credits?

All programs have different expiration dates. You'll find this information listed on course details pages.

How long does it take before I get the credits?

Most certificates can be printed once you pass the post-test, complete the evaluation, and claim your CME credits. Some providers, however, choose to deliver CME certificates in the mail. This process may take 4-6 weeks.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Online formats are available to you immediately. A welcome email with login credentials will be sent upon confirmation of purchase. Please allow up to 10 business days for delivery on paid orders of non-online formats. Some items may be shipped separately based on availability.

How many courses are available?

CMEinfo has over 100 courses available, which represent continuing medical education programs from leading medical schools across America.

How many people can use the test or critique?

It can only be used by one physician and a test or critique cannot be copied. But you can buy Additional User Packages (AUP) which contain all the printed materials you receive with an audio or video order, including the forms to apply for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

How much does shipping and handling cost?

For most of our programs, shipping in the United States is $40 for video or audio, $47 for combination, $10 for online video, and $27.00 for Additional User Packages (AUPs). Next Business Day and 2nd Day Air delivery are available for an additional fee.

Based on availability, orders received prior to 12:00 PM CST ship the next day. For orders received after 12:00 PM CST, please allow 2 business days. Weekends and holidays excluded.

How satisfied are your buyers?

Over 90% of physicians surveyed said they would definitely order our home video programs again. And, 97% said our faculties are excellent.

How up-to-date are the programs?

Most sponsors accredit our programs for two or three years from the release date. We remove programs from the site after the credit expiration date. Programs are regularly replaced every 1-2 years to keep content up to date.

I don't want the credits. But can I have the answers to the test?

We don't have the answers to the test. Only the provider has that information.

What is a passing grade?

For institutions that require one, it's 70%. There are, however, programs that have a critique with no passing grade.

What is an MP3 and MP4

  • MP4 is a video format that is playable on computers having a compatible player such as VLC Media Player or Quicktime.
  • MP3 is an audio-only format playable on computers and most portable media players.
  • Your computer must have a DVD-ROM drive to load the MP3 and MP4 content.

What is the difference between Practical Reviews® On-Demand and Practical Reviews® Traditional?

Practical Reviews® On-Demand users have access to all specialties and are able to take quizzes on all complete issues. They are also able to take any number of quizzes for individual reviews for .25 credit hours from any specialty.

Practical Reviews® Traditional users have access to up to two different specialties. They are able to review articles and take quizzes on complete issues via the Practical Reviews® website, mobile phones and tablets.

What does the Oakstone Advanced Search do for me?

The Oakstone Advanced Search allows you to refine your search parameters in these ways:

  • Search by sub-credit categories, which are required by many hospital boards.
  • Search for active credits -- you can acquire CME credits for as long as your subscription allows.

How do I download audio from the Practical Reviews® website to my mobile device?

My Quiz Code is not working. How do I enter the Quiz?

After typing in your Quiz Code and Quiz Letter, you must click Submit to access the quiz. If you press Enter you will receive an error message.

Alternate Method: After logging in to PracticalReviews.com and selecting an issue to review, the following webpage displays the reviews down the left side. At the bottom of the list is a blue bar that states, Take Issue Quiz. This link will take you directly to the Quiz Page for that issue.

How do I print out my CME certificate?

After logging into PracticalReviews.com, click Compiled Certificate in the right column located beneath My Account. You will then be presented with a short evaluation that must be completed and submitted. Once you complete the evaluation, click PDF certificate. This will direct you to a page where you will be asked to enter a Date Range and the Specialty you wish to receive a certificate for.

Provide the Date Range and Specialty then click Submit. A message window will appear at the bottom of the screen. It will ask you if you want to Open or Save the Document. (The document can be e-mailed to you or printed.) Click Open or Save depending on which action you prefer to take.

The final formal document will include your name, address, customer number, accreditation information, credits for the year selected, as well as subcategory credits.

Where can I listen to the Practical Reviews® audio?

After logging into PracticalReviews.com, select an issue. On the next webpage, you will see all reviews listed down the left side of your screen. Below each review is a play button. Click Play Your Review and it will begin to play.

Can I print reviews from the website?

Yes. When you login to PracticalReviews.com and select an issue, you will go to the issue page. Just below the financial disclosure statement you will see a link for a PDF. When you click this link, you will be presented with a PDF version of the entire issue. Move your cursor down to the bottom center portion of the window and a menu will appear that will allow you to save or print the PDF.

Account Management

How can I tell when my subscription expires and the renewal price when I login?

Expiration information is not currently available on the Practical Reviews® website and renewal pricing is subject to change based on customer status and product updates. To get more information, please contact Customer Service at (800)633-4743.

Where can I see my CME credits?

After logging in to PracticalReviews.com, click My Credits in the right column below My Account. This option will display a snapshot of your credits. The current year will default, however you may change the year via the drop down menu.

Where can I find my customer number?

After you login to PracticalReviews.com, click My Account in the right column. This option will take you to the Account Information window where your Customer Number will be displayed.

How can I change my password?

After you login to PracticalReviews.com, click My Account in the right column. This option will take you to the Account Information window where you can click Edit My Profile. Once inside the edit window, you can change your password, as well as other demographic information. Once you have made your changes you must click Submit at the bottom to activate your changes.

How do I get to the quiz?

After logging into the Practical Reviews® App, select your specialty, the issue you’d like to view, and accept the Disclosure Agreement. On the next screen, at the top right, you should see an option that says Add to Playlist. (This addition to playlist is how you obtain the audio and the quiz for a particular issue.)

After selecting Add to Playlist, a question and three options will appear. Yes means the audio and quiz will stream from our servers, as long as you have an uninterrupted internet connection; No cancels the download; and Download for Offline copies the audio and quiz to your device. With this option, the issue remains on your device unless you clear the playlist, or choose Add to Playlist on another issue which overwrites the existing one.

How do I submit my quiz?

Practical Reviews® subscribers must answer all questions for a particular issue before they will be allowed to submit that issue’s quiz. Each time an answer is provided, an orange dot will appear next to the corresponding article’s title in the playlist. Once all reviews that have questions associated with them have been answered, the Submit button will become active and your quiz can be submitted.
