Statement of Need

CME is integrated into the process for improving professional practice with educational strategies implemented to remove, overcome or address barriers to physician change. Physicians are unable to consistently integrate new information into their practices because of the ways new medical knowledge is structured and disseminated, and the time it takes to completely scan for new information. Practical Reviews publications select and translate peer-reviewed literature for practical use, therefore diminishing the barrier of time.

Intended Audience

Family physicians and others interested in family medicine.

Special Prerequisites for Participants

There are no prerequisites for participants.

  • Appraise the evidence and assess advantages and disadvantages of the methods in question
  • Integrate non-conventional principles and practices with conventional ones, while selecting and using the best of all available courses of treatment
  • Discuss the latest basic science findings and their impact on clinical problems.
